2016 Corporate Genius Challenge
Join us in celebrating the super creative companies of northeast Ohio
Tuesday May 10, 2016: 6 – 8 pm
Kent State University at Stark Conference Center
6000 Frank Avenue NW
North Canton, Ohio 44720
The Event: On Tuesday May 10, 2016 Corporate Genius Challenge teams from 14 companies in Stark and Summit counties will compete for the 2016 trophy at a blue jean and gourmet pizza party with a live rock band.
Tickets: Genius Team members get in free. We have put aside 100 seats for the public to come watch. Tickets (which include admission to the gourmet pizza party and live rock band) can be purchased here.
Background: The first Corporate Genius Challenge was held in 2014 and featured 13 corporate teams. Mercy Medical Center was the winner. In 2015, we experimented with the Genius Project in schools with great success. And this year we are running genius challenges both in schools and in corporations. The Genius Project is about bringing art and science together. We want to make every kid a genius… and this place every genius wants to live.
The Process: Participating companies have assembled 5 person teams. On Tuesday April 12 ArtsinStark delivered a box containing four genius exercises to each company. The exercises were: 1) science, 2) language, 3) art/design, and 3) music. Teams will use these exercises to prepare themselves --- but will not receive the actual 2016 Corporate Genius Challenge until they arrive on Tuesday, May 10 at Kent State Stark’s Conference Center. Teams will have 60 minutes to solve the challenge before presenting it to our judges. The winning team will get the Corporate Genius Challenge Travelling Trophy to take home.
Team Memos: Here are the memos sent to teams to date. UPDATE: Memo 3 on May 2

We think that everyone in Stark County has what it takes to be a GENIUS. Maybe they ARE a brainiac on the computer, in the kitchen or in front of the classroom. Or, perhaps they have that certain something that inspires others to think, create, laugh and explore. Maybe they are very young. Or maybe they are very old. But they are ... here.
