The ArtsinStark Board of Directors has unanimously approved awarding $85,000 in Special Project Grants.  The Special Projects were divided with 15 being funded for regular grants (up to $7,500) and 32 for mini grants ($750 or less).  An additional $55,000 will be awarded to SmARTs partnerships with schools and announced at a later date.

Background on Special Project Grants.
Over the last five years, we have given out over $850,000 in new Special Project Grants to more than 200 Stark County non-profits that had never been funded before.  Special Project Grants are awarded to non profit organizations and individual artists for innovative ideas.  All Special Project Grants are awarded in the fall of each year. 

The deadline for Special Project Grant Applications for the 2012 year is past.  Awards will be made in January 2012 to organizations that have already completed and submitted their grant applications.
